My father was 5 years old and the game of "Monopoly" was invented the same year when this Brazilian rosewood cut was drying. I received it from Minas Gerais (Brazil) encapsulated in wax...extremely well preserved with the expected signs of a very long aging process.
The tap tone, coloring and looks of the perfectly book matched cut was a testament to the splendid instrument I was going to build using it.
I matched the back and sides with Alpine Spruce from Val D' Aosta (Northern Italy). The 2 most prestigious woods on the planet matched perfectly ! I do not think I have ever heard so mysterious and guttural basses in my 37 years with the guitar. Amazing is the correct word...the trebles spring out majestically with just small effort in the right hand. In the Romance clip I only use free stroke. Ebony bridge, bindings and armrest decorate this queen and I used the best marquetry crowned by a handmade Russian rosette to dress her. I used the 2 most prestigious Paraguayan woods for the reinforcement of the neck: Lapacho and Tatajyvá. African Padauk and Gabon Ebony in the linings.... One of the best guitars you'll ever see....
