89 years old Brazilian rosewood B&S. Lattice Braced Alpine Spruce top CUTAWAY, 640mm, radius, armrest, FANTASTIC!
My cutaways are without a doubt the best cutaways on the planet. Both sound and looks wise. You cannot notice the difference in sound with a full body classical. That is how well this babe sounds. The cut of Brazilian rosewood is among the oldest I ever used. It has been air drying since 1919...WW1 had just ended when this set started to air dry !
Beautiful chocolate color with gorgeous savvy stripes. A terrific tap tone that I decided to crown using a first class Alpine Italian spruce.
High Altitude trees

Normally spruce is not found beyond 2000 Mts. but if the terrain is flat enough (due to a plateau) and earth is present, it has been found at over 3000 mts. This is the second of 4 sets that Pierre, my childhood friend from Italy, shipped to me in early July.
Italian Alpine spruce in very cold environment slows its growth making the fibers tight and musically very resonant. A beautiful range of sound with a fast response. Clear trebles and a reverberating bass that makes the whole body vibrate. The sound on this Spruce top is fantastic. Still, it takes approximately 6 months for Alpine spruce to fully break in. I can only wonder what she will sound like then. On this Cutaway it adds the crispiness and response that a player dreams about. Asturias shined on this babe and every note is in the place where it ought to be. Splendid sound !!!
I decorated this babe using the finest marquetry. A Russian rosette matched by first class French Marquetry. Ebony armrest and decorated bridge bridge along with a triple layered headplate and neck reinforcement add the exquisite artistry typical of all my concert guitars.
Playability is sensational...easy and natural on the 640mm radiused fingerboard.
A true jewel guitar you do not want to miss.
