I incorporated
"The Anaconda" guitar among the guitar models I build since it was in the
Paraguayan news that a huge 12 meters Anaconda was caught in a fisherman's
net a few months back... The beauty of the grain on this Walnut is simply
breathtaking. It reflects the light differently depending on how you move
around her or depending on the light source location. She's got the texture
and colors of the famous American reptile. The Sinker Walnut top, one of
the rarest woods on the planet, is ALL REPTILIAN...with a Prehistoric appearance
to it that will stun you. I am not certain of the age of this particular
cut but it is at least 300 years old !! She resonates fully with
a top notch sustain and beautiful well rounded basses. The trebles are
amazingly clear carrying the contrapuntal voice in the Asturias prelude
magnificently. I used exotic Thai Amboina Burl to make the rosette and
add artistic touches to the violin tie and bridge. The action and playability
are UNBEATABLE thanks to the 16" radius, slim neck and low action. A stunning
instrument!!
