Aged Brazilian rosewood (approximately 55 years old), Italian spruce top: Fabulous guitar !
     A gorgeous 55 years old set of Brazilian rosewood and an Italian spruce top are the key elements to a fabulous sound. This concert guitar was a promise in the making from the minute I received the Aged sets from Rio de Janeiro. Tap tone was the best and the resulting guitar a TOTAL WINNER! The bass is beautiful with a human like quality attached to it and the trebles are silky and sweet. I admire the separation of voices on this beauty and playing the guitar is very instinctive. It feels as if I was touching my own skin...that how responsive this guitar is.
I used luxury french marquetry to decorate this babe. The inlay work consumed over 50 hours of intensive work. A spectacular Russian rosette decorated the sound hole and I used the same motif on the ebony bridge. Figured Brazilian rosewood was used for the armrest and ebony is the wood of choice for the bindings. I added my own set of enhancements to the 1943 Hauser blueprints (Bellucci Phase 3: Domed top and back, special thinning of the top, 4 different woods for the bracing (cedar, spruce, Spanish cypress, African mahogany).
