This Double
top Italian Spruce is one of my favorite instruments to date. It
possesses the best qualities a concert player looks for in a guitar.
Sweet tone and great separation. A booming sound that seems to have no
limit. She possesses one of the best and most elaborate guitar
sounds I ever heard. Every string has a very unique tone characteristic.
The 6th nd fifth are deep, resonant and with a deep guttural quality to
them. The fourth is vibrant and penetrating. The third is silky and round
and the first two strings are crystal clear and sing beautifully. The Bach
prelude demands this type of instrument and I use it to make the instrument
shine. Response, projection and sustain are MARVELOUS !! The armrest allow
the top to vibrate to its fullest potential and the soundport allows the
mid and high tones to find a way out... q soundhole seems to be insufficient
for the amount of sound she produces...HUGE !!!!
The 77 years
old Brazilian rosewood is part of an outstanding lot my Rio de Janeiro
sent me in early May. This set was beginning to air dry when Al Capone
was convicted of tax evasion in 1931. That surely puts the age of this
set in perspective. Each set is simply outstanding. This one has a fabulous
grain and the tap tone it showed when I received it delivered fully in
the instrument I was able to build. We used every possible artistic detail
to enhance the beauty of the instrument and just with every Bellucci guitar
she has her unique touch and the most beautiful and exclusive marquetry
details. The exclusive touch on this babe is the use of Cocobolo as a center
stripe in the back, headstock, bridge decoration and armrest. An
A++ instrument for an incredibly lucky player.
