Brazilian rosewood B&S, LATTICE BRACED Alpine Spruce top, Gabon
Ebony bindings, radiused fingerboard, armrest, violin tie and bridge.
640mm fret spacing. Embossed leather case included. SPECTACULAR !!!
The
sound and beauty of this lattice braced Alpine spruce top are simply MARVELOUS
! The trebles sing magnificently ion top of the booming basses. The 94
years air dried Brazilian rosewood adds the depth of sound you would expect
from the species. Deep guttural basses that take Romance to a whole new
level. The set was shipped from Minas gerais in late January. It is one
of the oldest I have ever used. It has a rare deep brown, blackish color
which turned into a sober looking back and sides after lacquer was applied.
The contrasting Alpine spruce top with Ebony/Spruce luxury marquetry, Rosette
and Gabon ebony bindings add to the contrast and mark the spectacular lines
on this gorgeous Queen.

The lattice is a concept based
on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means
of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to
allow the top to vibrate generously. As you see from the picture above,
the thinned area is approximately 1.2 mm thick (VS 2-2.5 in the standard
thinning techniques). Lattice delivers a lot of volume (approximately 21
dbs more) and wonderfully clear trebles.
Radiused or flat fingerboard?
The hand embossed leather case
is a work of art on its own right. Built by one of a handful of very talented
leather embossers in Latin America.
640mm or 650 mm?
