This
concert cutaway will simply keep you in awe and wondering how can something
so beautiful be created from wood and sound so BEAUTIFUL !? The project
was inspired by the fabulous Sri Lanka Macassar Ebony I received less than
2 months ago from Colombo. Ariesen, my Macassar supplies, sent me 3 spectacular
sets of back and sides of the species. This is one of them. The grain on
the wood is spectacular and extremely rare. The wood does its own work
of art by creating some AMAZING patterns. The tap tone was simply fabulous
and I decided to match her with Western redcedar for the top to add the
sweetness and punch of the species. Lattice bracing was my choice for the
soundboard and body engineering. The mid tones and the trebles shine majestically
and the separation of voices is UNBELIEVABLE. Listen how the phrasing in
the Bach prelude is as clear to understand as your native language or
more. The violin tie and armrest allow the top t work fully in the production
of sound. Responsive and fast to the attack of the right hand you will
feel as though you always owned this babe. She's intuitive and feels like
human skin to the right hand fingertips/nails. The 640mm radiused action
will make the position changes easy and natural for the left hand. I would
definitely make a soundport to allow her to project more, but I leave it
as a customizable option because some players prefer the closed ring. |
