92 years air dried Brazilian rosewood B&S, LATTICE BRACED Alpine spruce top, Gabon Ebony bindings, radiused fingerboard, armrest, violin tie  and bridge.  640mm fret spacing. Embossed leather case included. Soundport. Fabulous sound and looks !!!

This spectacular Spruce top was built using a 92 years air dried set from Belo Horizonte (Brazil). The tap tone and grain on the cut were top notch and I knew that the resulting guitar would have  a tremendous sound and punch. I matched the back and sides with an Alpine spruce top and decided to make her lattice braced to enhance the mid and high ranges and take the already fabulous separation of voices to the highest possible level. The instrument is amazingly responsive and a minimum change in the angle of attack to the strings adds an innumerable number of new tones to the already rich color palette of this spruce top. Notice how rich the melody is and how fast the sound changes color in Romance. The bass simply BOOMS !!
I decorated her with a handmade Russian (Tula, North Russia) rosette and the finest marquetry on all sides. The 640mm radiused fingerboard makes the left hand move swiftly and much more naturally around the fingerboard. Art in every detail will keep you admiring her beauty for long stretched of time. A true Masterpiece.

The lattice is a concept based on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to allow the top to vibrate generously. As you see from the picture above, the thinned area is approximately 1.2 mm thick (VS 2-2.5 in the standard thinning techniques). Lattice delivers a lot of volume (approximately 21 dbs more) and wonderfully clear trebles.

The Violin tie: The tailpiece on a guitar is called for just as it is on every other member of the strings family (violin, etc.). When the first classical
guitars were built, gut strings were the norm... the tension on these was nothing compared to modern nylon strings. A tailpiece was redundant...
Anchoring the strings to the lower bout meet point, which is one of the sturdiest parts of the instrument, allows the builder to thin the top more
allowing for  a much bigger sound and not recur to the use of carbon fiber or other non wood materials that give the classical guitar a "plastic sound. ".

Radiused or flat fingerboard?
The radiused fingerboard has been around the acoustic and the electric guitar since day one. The same is true for most instruments of the Stringed family of instruments (violas, violins cellos, bass). Radiusing (image above) makes barre and left hand stopping A LOT easier. The only drawback is that you will NEVER want to play a  flat fingerboard after that. If you are having your custom guitar built, I am all pro radiusing the fingerboard.  The standard fingerboard is flat.

The hand embossed leather case is a work of art on its own right. Built by one of a handful of very talented leather embossers in Latin America.
Its built following my specifications for the interior to fit Bellucci guitars like a glove. All Plush interior, key and accessories compartment.

640mm or 650 mm?
Regarding 650mm or 640 mm guitar construction, keep the following rule at hand: If the distance between the tip of your thumb and the tip of your little finger is equal or less than 9 in. when fully stretched, use 640 mm. Adapting from one scale to the other takes no adaptation
