Brazilian rosewood B&S, LATTICE BRACED
Alpine Spruce top, Gabon Ebony bindings, radiused fingerboard, armrest,
violin tie and bridge. Soundport. 640mm fret spacing. Embossed
leather case included. SPECTACULAR !!!
Every time I play one of my cutaways, I reinforce my conviction that they are the best sounding and looking concert cutaways on the planet. This babe is no exception. The 94 years aged Brazilian rosewood set from Minas Gerais is one of the oldest air dried cuts I ever had and one of the best to react to tap tone. This set was air drying when WW I was in full blast ! That's how long it's been drying for !! The resulting sound is simply MAGNIFICENT. The Alpine top adds a tremendous separation of voices and punch to the clear sounding and penetrating trebles. The melody never loses center stage even during the most sophisticated arpeggios of the Bach Prelude. The bass sends huge vibrations through my body and the playing is spontaneous and fast responsive. Simply the best a player can expect from a concert guitar. The art work on this beauty is glorious and not a single corner of this queen has been left without a special touch of art and mastery. The radiused 640mm fret spaced action is a dream to play on. Left hand moves are swift and the hand never feels stained or tired. A jewel guitar ! |
The lattice is a concept based
on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means
of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to
allow the top to vibrate generously. As you see from the picture above,
the thinned area is approximately 1.2 mm thick (VS 2-2.5 in the standard
thinning techniques). Lattice delivers a lot of volume (approximately 21
dbs more) and wonderfully clear trebles.
Radiused or flat fingerboard?
The hand embossed leather case
is a work of art on its own right. Built by one of a handful of very talented
leather embossers in Latin America.
640mm or 650 mm?
