"The
Tiger"
When
I started playing The Tiger, it felt as though the instrument was breathing
in order to put more air in her lungs and created the most amazing bass,
sustain and marvelous vibrato I could dream of. The set of Tiger like striped
Brazilian Rosewood is from Cascavel, a small town only 200 miles from the
Paraguay-Brazil border. It is tremendously beautiful and it delivered the
perfect image of a Tiger from the very start. I then proceeded to lattice
brace a 280 years old Sinker Redwood top, and made her a double top
using African Mahogany as her inner top and inside the sound box construction.
Ziricote Bindings with African Padauk marquetry and linings to enhance
her amazing figure and add more Tiger reminiscing details. The resulting
instrument surpassed all my expectations. The feel of the strings under
my finger, the punch she sends through my body every time a bass string
is plucked and her crystalline sound speak of a pure breed instrument and
a top concert performer.
The action
is low and easy at just 3.5mm at fret 12. I set her up for my right hand
plucking which is heavy but I am sure that you will be able to lower her
even more to fit your playing. The Tiger is a true Wild Feline ! |
