Sinker logs
Sinker logs like the ones above, are pulled from the bottom of lakes and rivers. Sometimes, scuba divers are needed to achieve the extraction.  Most of these logs are hundreds of years old (In one of the pictures above, you can see that the tree was cut with an hatchet). Due to a series of factors (The logs were too big and heavy to be pulled out of the rivers or the logs were caught by currents and were sucked to the bottom)  these logs were trapped by the muddy buttons of these water beds. This created a time capsule where the wood was preserved in fantastic humidity conditions that made the wood season in a slow natural way for many centuries. Some of the logs are selected for musical instruments construction. The sound that these woods produce is unique. The grain has a beautiful coloration that changes according to the type of mud present in the water bed.

Hear this fabulous DOUBLE TOP
 S
I have been a true Zorro fan since I was a young child watching Guy Williams on the memorable TV series. This is the guitar my childhood hero would have custom ordered. This limited edition Zorro carries African Blackwood instead of Gabon ebony. This makes the whole body vibrate more and delivers that human like sound typical of African Blackwood that no other species can deliver.... I used a Gray/Black sinker redwood whose age is estimated at 255 years. That is when America was still a British colony... !  The beauty and sound of this queen are simply UNBELIEVABLE. The Double top adds an unbelievable sustain to the big powerful sound which sends huge waves through the player's body.  The basses are among the strongest I have heard in my 32 yeas playing, the separation of voices is superb and the trebles shine like the most brilliant crystal. Unbelievable. The sound port allows for the sound to come out fully adding 11 dbs too the overall sound and filling my studio with sound completely. Asturias simply filled my studio with amazing sound, color and power. The builders from the other side of the glass dividing the studio from the workshop, looked in awe at their creation.... SPECTACULAR !!!  The Russian rosette, and perfectly chosen marquetry melt the parts together beautifully. I used figured Macassar Ebony for the violin tie, armrest and bridge and African blackwood fro the bindings. Marquetry is all spruce maple and ebony. Gold plated with black paint tuners decorate the headstock, African buffalo horn nut and saddle. We used a special aging/burning process for the neck to achieve the effect of aging. The 640mm scale makes playing so much easier and this is your chance to own a unique masterpiece ! The Zorro insignia as well as the picture of the guitar are printed on the label.
