Beautiful,
elegant and loud are a few of the adjectives that describe this Brazilian
rosewood Cedar Concert guitar. The set was shipped to me from Rio de Janeiro
in April. It has been seasoning for at least 60 years. It arrived encapsulated
in wax like most cuts my provider sends me from Brazil. The tap tone and
figure are gorgeous. The grain in the back is slightly quilted and this
creates a gorgeous pattern. It remind me of the fur on a German shepherd.
The Western redcedar top brings the sweetness to the big tone generated
by the Brazilian rose. The prelude I play is the best testament to the
greatness of this instrument. I mean, listen to those basses. They seem
to come from singing of a Baritone. Marvelous. The trebles are round and
clear. The top generates the typical mid tones and warm harmonics typical
of the species. The playability is THE BEST. Fast and easy. The 640mm
scale with radiuse is simply unbeatable when it comes to feeling comfortable
stopping any note in any position. Intonationis PERFECT ! The decoration
of the instrument carries the typical signature of all my guitars: a gorgeous
rosette, Russian, luxurious French marquetry, Amboina burl from thailand
for the headplate, figured Brazilian rose for the bridge and armrest.
This particular beauty carries an exclusive maple that draws a spectacular
design in the neck. An A+ concert guitar that will make you proud for decades
!
