Ebony bindings, 16" radiused ebony fingerboard, violin tie, armrest &
bridge. Soundport in upper bout and double soundport in lower bout, 640mm

This is a truly wonderful Cutaway that will fulfill all the expectations of the player looking for a comfortable powerful and expressive instrument. I decided to play Barrios' "Una Limosna por el amor de Dios". The piece requires the guitar to be responsive an all registers, have an over-the-top sweetness and have a ringing third string. This is usually every guitar's Achilles heel. On this babe the third is simply wonderful. Notice how the contrapuntal voice accompanying the tremolo creates a world of its own. Warm, with a night owl's depth of voice. The piece represent the knocking on the door of an old lady that inspired the work. Below is part of the score I extract from my online masterclasses:
The second set of knockings represented by the 2 ending eight notes is performed on the third string and few guitars can deliver those notes as majestically as this babe does. The Brazilian rosewood is approximately 94 years old and comes from Cascavel (Rattle snake city, Brazil). It has a deep dark brown color and presented itself with a tremendous tap tone. Decorating this babe using the most delicate marquetry was perhaps the most rewarding part. Her curves started protruding graciously and she ended up being the queen that she is. Playing on the 640mm radiused ebony fingerboard is a pleasure. The left hand flies over the fingerboard naturally and stopping the notes is easy throughout the fingerboard. The Double top allows her to sustain the sound geometrically and the mixture with the lattice braced cedar top converges in creating a PERFECT sound. |

| The double top,
was developed and introduced by Master Luthier Manuel Contreras the
II at the end of the 70s and reached its peak in the 80s. The word "Tapa"
in Spanish translates to top in English but it refers to the back
of the instrument. Therefore, Contreras doble tapa is actually a "Double
back".
Radiused or flat fingerboard?
The lattice is a concept based on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to allow the top to vibrate generously. Lattice delivers a lot of volume a tremendous clarity. The hand embossed leather case is a work of art on its own right. Built by one of a handful of very talented leather embossers in Latin America. Its built following my specifications for the interior to fit Bellucci guitars like a glove. All Plush interior, key and accessories compartment. You can request an upgrade to a Cow hive front and back version. 640mm or 650 mm?
