My days change
into the best days any human can fathom every time a creation like this
amazing Brazilian Rosewood comes out of the shop. It is also true that
this puts me in one of the greatest dilemmas a luthier and guitar player
can face: ...to sell such a beauty... Her perfection and harmony in the
lines are beyond the realm of words. Wherever the eyes look, they are met
by beauty and perfection. Gorgeous lines, a perfect combination and complementation
of each wood with the adjacent one. Her sound is deep, powerful and the
separation of voices I can achieve comes close to perfection. Matching
the woods to achieve such a perfectly resonating sound box was done in
stages and as each part was added to the whole, it was tapped to ensure
she was resonating to the best frequency. The bass is long standing and
powerful, the 4th and third strings are unbelievably clear and the third
string is almost as powerful as the 4th. The trebles shine majestically
and carry the melody to perfection. The Brazilian Rosewood I used is approximately
94 years old and comes from Cascavel (Rattle snake city, Brazil). It has
a deep dark brown color and presented itself with a tremendous tap tone
and an AMAZING bookmatched figure. Decorating this babe using the most
delicate marquetry was perhaps the most rewarding part. Her curves started
protruding graciously and she ended up being the queen that she is. Playing
on the 640mm ebony fingerboard is a pleasure. The left hand flies over
the fingerboard naturally and stopping the notes is easy throughout the
fingerboard. The natural sustain of the Hauser frame added to the
perfect matching of the woods bring this perfect instrument to life. |
