Handmade Embossed Leather case included ! "Guadalupe"
I have only come across such an amazing set of Brazilian Rosewood once in the years that I have been building guitars. I have built over 1050 instruments to date and this says it all. The age of the set is approximately 120 years and the comment I received on the phone by my supplier in Rio de Janeiro was: "Se parece a la imagen de Virgen de Guadalupe" (It resembles the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe). Indeed, the set is so perfectly bookmatched that it seems as though one half of the back were looking at itself in a mirror... the rays of light that emanate from the image are present in the figure and the praying hands of the Virgin Mary are present as well. The set is BREATHTAKING ! Add to this that she is amazingly easy to play and you can easily understand that she stands out from the crowd like no other. The set of Master grade Cedar is perfect. It is combined with the second Cedar top mounted halfway through the main top and the back, generating a sustain  and projection that will simply marvel you. I proceeded to decorate her like the Heavenly Queen that she is, using African Padauk for the Bindings, matching handmade marquetry for the sides and making sure that every little corner of the construction would be filled with the highest ranked artistry and passion. Asturias literally flew through my hands on first take and she feels so perfect. A superb separation of voices and a sound that fills the studio with the most amazing sounds.

Double top V1
Hauser 9 braces all Spruce fan
Double top V1
Hauser 9 braces 3 woods fan + Double top

The double top, was developed and introduced by  Master Luthier Manuel Contreras the II at the end of the 70s. The word "Tapa" in Spanish translates to top in English but it refers to the back of the instrument. Therefore, Contreras doble tapa is actually a "Double back". The Doble tapa allows the back and sides to be much more sturdy and reflect sound on the inner  walls of the body with much more intensity and speed. This makes the sound boom majestically.

The double top V1 with the 9 braces Hauser fan, was developed and introduced by  Master Luthier Manuel Contreras the II at the end of the 70s and reached its peak in the 80s. In this Variation of the Double top, a second top is located halfway between the main top and the back. It is held in place by means of little Mahogany bridges located above and below the second top along the inner part of the sides (frames 1 & 3). The second top rests on the upper bridges and once it is glued on each little bridge (frame 2), a second bridge is glued on top of the preceding corresponding bridge below the second top (frame 3). This second top vibrates a fraction of a second after the first one creating an immense sustain and punch using the air moving inside the sound box and thus creating a multiplying effect of the sonorous waves. The other top (Contreras style) is held against the back with less than 1/2 millimeter space and ensures back rigidity and stiffness.
