I decided to build a pure breed Lattice braced concert guitar inspired in Williams' recordings since 1986. I was in London when Smallman passed his Lattice braced to John Williams for the Australian master to play it in a noon concert in the London city broadcasted by BBC3. Little did I know I'd be building lattice guitars 23 years later. Unlike Smallman, I only use wood. No composite materials whatsoever because these pass a "plastic sound" to the instrument. The set of Brazilian rose I used is from near Rio de Janeiro (Angras, Brazil) it is GORGEOUS and its tap tone was a total omen as to the guitar that would come out of it. I matched it with cedar to achieve the Spanish sound and the sweetness typical of the species. Cavatina is a worthy testament to the Australian master that made it famous over 33 years ago. |

| The doble tapa, was developed
and introduced by Master Luthier Manuel Contreras the II at the end
of the 70s and reached its peak in the 80s. The word "Tapa" in Spanish
translates to top in English but it refers to the back of the instrument.
Therefore, Contreras doble tapa is actually a "Double back".
The hand embossed leather case is a work of art on its own right. Built by one of a handful of very talented leather embossers in Latin America. Its built following my specifications for the interior to fit Bellucci guitars like a glove. All Plush interior, key and accessories compartment. You can request an upgrade to a Cow hive front and back version. The lattice is a concept based on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to allow the top to vibrate generously. Lattice delivers a lot of volume a tremendous clarity. Radiused or flat fingerboard?
640mm or 650 mm?
