old Brazilian rosewood B&S, Canadian cedar Lattice braced top. 640mm,
radius, armrest. Pure and shiny sound and spectacular looks
This cedar op has the looks of a traditional classical guitar. But under the hood she carries the latest technology in lattice bracing construction. A system I developed with my top builders during the past year and half. We use wood exclusively and no laminates nor carbon fiber like other builders that make lattice use (Smallman being the best known of them). I did not add the violin tie nor did I make the soundport to attract those players that want to keep the classical look intact, but she is comes ready to be fitted with her own matched violin tie and the sound port location is already prepared in case the buyer wants these pluses. I am totally in favor of them, but as I sad before, some players want to stick to the classical look. Ant there is where this fantastic 90 years air dried Brazilian rosewood from Minas Gerais (Brazil) comes into play. It has a gorgeous stripy figuring with shades of brown that melt into a wonderful variety of shades. The Canadian cedar was a must since she had to be as Spanish as possible. Naturally, she is only Spanish in sound but the playability is TREMENDOUSLY easier than the one found on her Spanish counterparts. This 640 radiused babe is easy to play while her Spanish counterparts are nearly impossible to play. A gorgeous handmade Russian rosette matched with splendid French marquetry to enhance her lines and figure. The sound is beautiful, Listen how the accompanying B in Asturias shines like a bell... marvelous. Crisp, lively sound with a vast spectrum of mid ranges and harmonics. A jewel that will inspire you and make you play better than you already play. |
