Highly figured, 90 years old Brazilian rosewood B&S,  Lattice Canadian cedar top, 640mm, armrest, radius. Fantastic sound, Pure Beauty.
I knew I was going to perform Agustin Barrios' Una limosna as soon as I got this fabulous babe in my arms. The lure of Cedar towards the sweet and the generous offering of a tremendous punch in the bass line made it simply A MUST PLAY. Notice how the third string seems to imitate a night owl and the bass emanates round harmony filled sounds filling the counterpoint that accompanies the killer tremolo.
Only the best instruments inspire the player to outperform himself. This is one of those incredible instruments.
Built using a 90 years old air dried Brazilian rosewood set I received from Cascavel (Rattle snake) Brazil at the beginning of the month. Coupling it with the Canadian cedar was almost irresistible. Ebony bindings would create the contrast and the Colorful rosette and matching French marquetry simply puts the accent where the most sublime artistry requires it.
Not 2 of my guitars are the same and they all look different, I make sure to match everything perfectly but NEVER repeat myself in order for the owners of these jewels to own a piece of " uniqueness... "
Lattice brace is almost my first choice when preparing the parts for my stock instruments because they produce the sound that allows most players to express themselves without getting too far from the traditional. Lattice construction, inspired in the piano engineering nd launched in the 80s by Australian builder Greg Smallman, has proven to be a winner system. I simply had to work around the system and figure out a way to build these beauties without using laminates and synthetic materials. I was abel to come up with the right formula after 18 months of experimenting. These lattice braced babes are simply MARVELOUS singing pieces of art.
I also make 640mm a standard in all my stock guitars because 650 is the wrong measure for most players requiring an immense effort which only results in frustration.
