| This set of
90 years old I received from Cascavel (Brazil) reminds me of a wild cat
fur with dramatic figuring that keep you staring at her for long stretches
of time. The set has been air drying since the end of WW 1! I like to bring
about these historical events because they keep things, time, in perspective.
The set had a wonderful tap tone. So much so that I decided to match it
with the best cut of Alpine Spruce I have.
The species grows at fabulous altitudes
on the Italian Alps rendering the fibers a lot stronger, and tighter (more
info below). The sound on this Brazilian rose is simply fantastic. Generous
from the very first note plucked on her. Keep in mind that she is fresh
out of lacquering and that the clip you hear was recorded as soon as the
guitar was passed to my from the lacquering booth. Solid bass that send
a huge punch to the players body accompanied by a clear and sweet treble
enriched by harmonic enhanced mid tones that set this babe apart from the
rest. The Lattice braced top allows for some otherwise impossible frequencies
to shine majestically.
The armrest allows the player's tendons
to be less strained when presenting the arm on the ring and at the same
time prevents the forearm to interfere with the top that is free to vibrate
fully.

Triple neck reinforcement-truss

I used the best marquetry to decorate
this beauty. A gorgeous tropical looking Handmade Brazilian rosette, a
figured ebony decorated bridge and amazing finishing details on the neck
which has a triple enforcement of Brazilian rosewood and maple.
The detailing is simply amazing
and I ensure that artistry is present all over this jewel guitar.
The 640mm action allows for ease
of play and the radiused ebony fingerboard creates ease when stopping
notes in scales and when performing barres.
Italian Alpine spruce grows at extremely
high altitudes in very cold environment. This slows the growth making the
fibers tight and musically very resonant. A beautiful range of sound
with a fast response. Clear trebles and a reverberating bass that makes
the whole body vibrate. |
