Mangoré: "Una Limosna...", Staff6 5-9

"Una Limosna..." staffs 5-9: Keep the left hand relaxed at all times. As you complete the sequence in one position/chord, relax the left hand completely and only then mov eon to the next position. This will prevent tension from building up thus keeping your playing relaxed at all times. DO a muscular chech at all times to ensure that nowhere in your body is tension present. This is ESSENTIAL !! Only if you master "playing relaxed" will you be able to take your playing to the next level. It is a technique worth investing as much of your time as possible.

Breath out between the different positions and stop the notes in sequence. This will help dissipate tension in the muscles throughout the body. Only start lowering the fingers on the fretboard once you are in position and allow for maximum relaxation to take place between each chord sequence. The colored arrows show the fingers as they come down on the fingerboard in sequence.

"Una Limosna....", Staffs 23-25

Once again, you must keep in centerstage the total relaxation of the left hand fingers which will have to release all unwanted tension between one position on the fingerboard and the next. Not doing so will result in an overworked left hand which in turn will translate in poor sound, and a strained overall technique. You must incorporate the word RELAX as if it were one more note in the sequence. The 5 fingering scenarios I offer here are among the most demanding ones that will challenge any player that wants to tackle this amazingly beautiful work by the Paraguayan genius Mangoré.

Read the Technique Pages on Mangore com to get acquainted with Bellucci/Carlevaro Technique principles of effortless guitar playing. It is worth mentioning that if you compared the original Barrios fingering of "Una Limosna" you will not believe how complicated it can get. The difference in some of the sections is literally day and night. The piece went from being dense and extremely tiring to being enjoyable and extremely pleasurable to play. That is how much fingering does to playing.
