"The Tiger"
.Allow mw to present an amazing Concert Masterpiece....one that will stun you and marvel you such is the beauty she encapsulates and so rich and vast the sound that she can produce. The Tiger like figure on the back and sides is stunningly beautiful and perfectly bookmatched. I hand picked this set among hundreds in Minas Gerais (Brazil) at the end of 2010. I had to match it with an equally stunning and rare top. Highly figured Curly Sinker Redwood. A true giant among trees. Below you can see the picture of a monster tree over 3000 years old from Northern California. This set is from a log that was sunk during its river transportation to the wood mills and was conserved in a mud capsule for almost 300 years. As I play Morricone's Gabriel's Oboe from the Epic move soundtrack "The Mission", the mixture of both woods delivers a sound full of the most amazing colors, power, sustain and projection that will make her sing in any type of  concert venue. Her harmonics are rich and she produces an amazing array of overtones. SPLENDID ! Gabriel's Oboe is enhanced in beauty even more. Every other detail in the construction was carefully chosen to make sure that the beholder's eyes would always land on pure artistry. She's among the most beautiful and best sounding guitars you'll ever see.
She's easy to play thanks to the special cutaway, the slim neck, 16" radius and the low action set up to 3.5mm at fret 12 which allows for even more lowering if your plucking permits.

Sinker logs

Sinker logs (top # 2), are pulled from the bottom of lakes and rivers. Sometimes, scuba divers are needed to achieve the extraction.  Most of these logs are hundreds of years old (In one of the pictures above, you can see that the tree was cut with an hatchet). Due to a series of factors (The logs were too big and heavy to be pulled out of the rivers or the logs were caught by currents and were sucked to the bottom)  these logs were trapped by the muddy buttons of these water beds and this created like a time capsule where the wood was preserved in fantastic humidity conditions that made the wood season in a slow natural way during many centuries. Some of the logs are selected for musical instruments construction. The sound that these woods produce is unique and the grain has a beautiful coloration that changes according to the type of mud present in the water bed.

650 mm or 640 mm?
Keep the following rule at hand: If the distance between the tip of your thumb and the tip of your little finger is equal or less than 9 in. when fully stretched, use 640 mm

The lattice is a concept based on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to allow the top to vibrate generously. Lattice delivers a lot of volume a tremendous clarity.

Radiused or flat fingerboard?
The radiused fingerboard has been around the acoustic and the electric guitar since day one. The same is true for most instruments of the Stringed family of instruments (violas, violins cellos, bass). Radiusing (image above) makes barre and left hand stopping A LOT easier. The only drawback is that you will NEVER want to play a  flat fingerboard after that. If you are having your custom guitar built, I am all pro radiusing the fingerboard.  The standard fingerboard is flat.
