Da Vinci Series Macassar Ebony B&S, Bellucci/Hauser braced Alpine Spruce top Concert guitar. 640mm, 20" Radiused fingerboard with in-Ebony fiber optics illuminated position markers. Luxury marquetry on all sides, Gold plated carved tuners, Ebony armrest and decorated bridge. Cocobolo bindings, Brazilian Rosewood lute type rosette with double concentric Turtle shell inlay. Indented Cutaway with soundport and double sequential soundport in the left upper bout. Turtle shell decoration throughout. Embossed leather case included. Masterpiece! This amazing concert guitar is the last creation for 2011. She is literally the cherry on the pie  of all the beautiful Masterworks I produced in 2011. After playing a  night concert a few weeks ago where candle light was all that the atmosphere required, I said to myself "I have got to make it possible to illuminate the position markers for extreme lighting conditions such as the one I'm in now!" . I started looking at different possibilities and found that nobody had ever attempted something like it on a classical guitar. The requirement was that it had to be indestructible, that it required no maintenance and that, should  one want to get rid of it, it had to be as easy as 1,2,3. It took me the best part of 4 days to finish this amazing work... First, make a microscopic rout in the upper ebony where the fiber optic would rest once it was slipped in. then, cover the Fiber with a thin Ebony slip to hide everything except the light coming out from the small holes. It is stunning and an amazing satisfaction to have pulled this one off because I know that many guitarists often play in extreme lighting conditions if not in complete darkness. This is especially true for night club players or players that entertain friend in homes with special ambiance requirements like the one mentioned earlier. It is a breakthrough and it looks FANTASTIC !! The led that illuminated the optic fiber comes in red, blue, white and green. I have red and green and I can ship either led housing on request. The one in the picture is green. You can request diamond markers to be added on top of each tiny hole to take this to the next level. I tried with one and it looks AMAZING. With daylight, they look like regular side markers. The sound, beauty and playability as well as the innovative spirit on this Da Vinci Series Macassar Ebony/Alpine Spruce top Bellucci concert guitar, make her rank as the official 2011 Bellucci guitars Masterpiece.   .. The fan brace is based on the Hauser 1943 Frame. It incorporates 4 different species of wood: Sinker redwood, Spruce, Cedar and Mahogany. The sinker Redwood is the transversal strut that shortens the trebles side to augment the power of the high registers whilst Cedar and spruce were used on the bass side to augment the power of and resonance of the bass line. I think I can affirm that she has the most powerful 6th string I have ever heard and one of the best ringing trebles you can hope for. Simply amazing. The top was reduced to less than 1 mm towards the edges and just a little over 1 mm towards the bridge area where I installed a new underbridge system that connects the bridge with each strut in the fan brace whilst directing each frequency to the right portion of the top. Italian Alpine Spruce is the highest growing tree on the planet. It grows at or above 1,800 meters where the oxygen is rarefied. This makes the grain much tighter resulting in a strong reverberating tone wood. This is the species Stradivarius used for his legendary violins. 650 mm or 640 mm? Keep the following rule at hand: If the distance between the tip of your thumb and the tip of your little finger is equal or less than 9 in. when fully stretched, use 640 mm. Request the signed poster Radiused or flat fingerboard? The radiused fingerboard has been around the acoustic and the electric guitar since day one. The same is true for most instruments of the Stringed family of instruments (violas, violins cellos, bass). Radiusing (image above) makes barre and left hand stopping A LOT easier. The only drawback is that you will NEVER want to play a  flat fingerboard after that. If you are having your custom guitar built, I am all pro radiusing the fingerboard.  The standard fingerboard is flat.

PROTECTIVE GEAR These attractive hand sawn velvet guitar covers are very useful if you like to leave your instrument out of the case for long stretches of time. They are a great solution to avoid scratches during practice from the friction of buttons with the finish. To use it while playing, use it in the position shown to the right. These are hand sawn by the wife of my Leather cases embosser.

OPTIONAL ADJUSTABLE SADDLE BONE  When ordering a guitar, every player will ask me to set the action as low as possible without any buzzes... Since every player applies different amount of strenght when plucking the strings it is impossible to set the action precisely to each player's will. The Spanish builder Fleta, had come up with this genial idea which consists of pushing the bone more or less into the groove on the bridge. The player would set the action to his liking and then either cut off the excess or keep it intact in case he decided to lower or raise the action depending on humidity conditions etc. On request, I can prepare a Fleta saddle bone for an extra 80 US$.
