This is probably the last Ziricote Back and sides concert guitar I will be offering this year and it is one opportunity to own one of these tremendous guitars. I will not have more sets for the next 4-6 months. Just like her predecessors, she is a magnificent guitar that earned the thumbs up of every luthier in the firm. The intricate knotting of the figure creates some really amazing patterns that you can spend hours admiring. I added a gorgeous Alpine spruce top from Val D'Aosta to achieve the brilliant and amazingly well defined trebles I look for in a concert classical. The Sinker Redwood double top adds the mystery and a sweetness that I thought of putting into words interpreting Myers' Cavatina in the demo video. The main melody is accompanied on the bass and the discourse that the 2 voices carry on speaks of pure poetry... The sustain is perfect because the melody notes always find the reverberating basses when they start singing. Beautiful !! Playability is perfect at just 3.7mm at fret 12 combined with the combination of the elevated fingerboard and the 16" radius.  Slim neck makes the playing easy and natural and there is no waste of energy for the left hand. Amboina Burl and African Padauk are the Exotic woods I used to decorate her beyond the norm and make her a true work of art.

Double top V1

The double top VARIATION 1, was developed and introduced by  Master Luthier Manuel Contreras the II at the end of the 70s and reached its peak in the 80s. In this Variation of the Double top, a second top is located halfway between the main top and the back. It is held in place by means of little Mahogany bridges. This top vibrates a fraction of a second after the first one creating an immense sustain and punch.

ELEVATED FINGERBOARD
Elevated Fingerboard
Radiused or flat fingerboard?
The radiused fingerboard has been around the acoustic and the electric guitar since day one. The same is true for most instruments of the Stringed family of instruments (violas, violins cellos, bass). Radiusing (image above) makes barre and left hand stopping A LOT easier. The only drawback is that you will NEVER want to play a  flat fingerboard after that. If you are having your custom guitar built, I am all pro radiusing the fingerboard.  The standard fingerboard is flat.

Italian Alpine Spruce is the highest growing tree on the planet. It grows at or above 1,800 meters where the oxygen is rarefied. This makes the grain much tighter resulting in a strong reverberating tone wood. This is the species Stradivarius used for his legendary violins.

The images and video depict the actual guitar being sold.
