New Transcription & Fingering for Classical Guitar, "You've Got a Friend", James Taylor

You've Got a Friend: Tutorial Video 1/18

James Taylor is one of the great composers that marked my generation and definitely part of a team of composers that have marked an era, the era of the storytellers, which covered most of the 70s and part of the 80s. The circumstances that inspired these great musicians will simply never return and I consider myself lucky for having been a part of this amazing generation... Cat Stevens, Dan Fogelberg, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Elton John are just a few of the many names that come to mind when I think of this golden era. Here is my tribute to one of the legendary composers of the 70s: James Taylor's "You've Got a Friend". The main challenge of the work is to keep the famous melody in center stage and all the other voices well in the background so as to give the illusion of 2 guitars playing. The proper use of levers will make the playing smooth and error free. Visit the Masterclass.
