Sarah is a guitar player from Utah, USA. She commissioned this amazing Dragonfly Guitar in mid February 2021. Her choice of options for the Custom built promised to put Sarah's Dragonfly Custom guitar among the best Bellucci masterworks to date. The Custom Dragonfly motif defines the headplate, the rosette and the bridge. Sarah's masterpiece is the first ever "Dragonfly" classical guitar to come to life. It is always a very rewarding experience to be faced with a new guitar design challenge. Needless to say, the Dragonfly guitar posed many challenges and we were perseverant enough to surpass each and every one of them. Cheers Sarah!

The Papua Abalone Rosette is simply fabulous and adds a touch of beauty to the most looked at part of the instrument.
Papua Abalone Linings add a touch of finesse to the lines of a guitar that it is almost unconceivable that not all guitars wear them. he only reason is perhaps that it takes over 4 days of intensive labor to make
Strap Buttons come in handy when the performers plays either standing up or has holds the guitar for extended periods of time in recording studio settings.
Typically, when I decorate the rosette with Pearl and Abalone, I match the work with touches of both Pearl & Abalone on the Bridge and/or on the accompanying Violin tie.
Elevated Fingerboard. The fingerboard is only attached to the top so as to guarantee structural stability and resilience to the neck. Approximately halfway between the contact point with the body and the soundhole, the fingerboard takes off and has no contact with the top of the guitar thus allowing the top to vibrate freely and produce more sound. The construction technique of the Bellucci elevated fingerboard took a couple of years to perfect and is now one of the best Custom features of Bellucci guitars.
The 4-band Equalizer/Digital tuner is a highly recommendable device for those players that play using amplification for outdoors performance and recordings. The EQ has an incorporated digital tuner that I find tremendously useful and allows for fast and accurate tuning.
Radiused or flat fingerboard? The radiused fingerboard has been around the acoustic and the electric guitar since day one. The same is true for most instruments of the Stringed family of instruments (violas, violins cellos, bass). Radiusing makes barre and left hand stopping a lot easier. The only drawback is that you will never want to play a flat fingerboard after that. The standard fingerboard is flat.
Bellucci guitars are decorated using marvelous wood marquetry to enhance all her lines and put an accent on specific parts of the construction. The marquetry requires anywhere between 35 & 90 hours of highly skilled labor to be inlayed throughout the guitar. It is made entirely by hand using knives that each luthier typically manufactures himself. It takes the guitar to unsuspected levels of beauty. The marquetry also constitutes an often critical point of release of tension which is caused by the constant expanding and contracting of the woods used in guitar construction. These are due to such factors such as humidity and ambience temperature.
The Mother of Pearl and Abalone inlay work adds amazing beauty to an already stunning guitar. It takes innumerable hours and very specialized hands and tools to create each inlay work. The average number of hours invested is approximately 150 hours.
The Bellucci Limited Edition logo and label will be assigned to guitars I build using extremely rare and amazingly figured woods in the construction for both the back and sides and/or the top. These sets are selected among hundreds of sets and their price is significantly higher that the standard figured counterparts. 7 of the world best "wood hunters" all the way from South East Asia, Oceania, Africa and the Americas are constantly on the lookout to provide me with some amazing sets for the Limited Edition series.
The lattice is a concept based on the A frame of grand pianos. The back and sides are kept rigid by means of a sturdy A shaped frame and the top is thinned as much as possible to allow the top to vibrate generously. The thinned area is approximately 1.2 mm thick (Vs. 2-2.5 in the standard thinning techniques). Lattice delivers a lot of volume and wonderfully clear trebles.
The Lute type sound hole is not merely an aesthetically element of guitar construction but also closely related with sound production and acoustics in general. The lute type sound hole forces the air inside the guitar to excite the surrounding woods longer than the conventional sound hole, thus generating an overall fuller and more powerful sound.
