African Blackwood redefines the word "amazing" in every sense. It is the hardest wood on the planet, thus many luthiers try to avoid it altogether because it will literally shred some tools or at least it will make them so blunt that these will need constant filing. The dust it emanates is also quite toxic requiring the use of masks when sanding it. These are not the main reasons why African Blackwood is not a mainstream wood yet. The other reasons have to do with mere speculations since many wood sellers want Brazilian Rosewood to take the crown for "King of Tonewoods" for all the wrong reasons when in fact it is African Blackwood

that really deserves the title. (Above, African Blackwood Logs in Tanzania) This particular model brings together 2 of the most significative tone woods on the planet: African Blackwood and Sinker Redwood.

Sinker Logs can spend as much as 350 years submerged and trapped in mud before they are salvaged by cranes or scuba divers. A small percentage of the sinker logs industry provides a few amazingly beautiful and rich sounding logs for instrumental construction. To enhance her beauty and punch, I added a lute type rosette and turtle shell decoration throughout. The resulting guitar is a spectacular instrument that tops Bellucci all time best masterpieces. In the video I made of this wild beauty you can immediately appreciate the enormous sustain and power she has, to the point that she activated the microphone's limiter function in order to avoid distortion. The notes seem to last forever and she sends huge and powerful waves throughout my chest. A true masterpiece for the ages. D.O.G.
