Arpeggiated Chord, Granada, Albéniz

Arpeggiated Chord, Granada, Albéniz

Arpeggiated Chord, Granada

Granada for guitar, Albéniz, Opening chord/arpeggio.

The opening Arpeggiated Chord of Granada is like the signature reef of the piece. I love to bring out the E on string 3 from the pack.  Although the E precedes the other notes in the score the effect you get by putting it last is in my opinion far superior. The E is "The note" in the arpeggiated chord and the sum of the right hand thumb plus the fact that it comes immediately after the high B gives it the necessary stardom to mark the beginning of Granada in full force. The sequence of each note in the arpeggiated chord is so fast that he ear will be fooled in believing that the order of the notes has been left unaltered.
