Renato Bellucci LIVE at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: "12 Portraits", Jan 30, 2019

2019 marked 2 of the greatest highlights in my career as a classical guitarist. I will celebrate my 50th anniversary as a musician and performed LIVE at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The concert was broadcast LIVE to the world and the house was full. It also turned out to be the coldest night of the year with a chilling -19 degrees Celsius temperature. Many friends from all over the US and the World attended the concert in Washington DC and I can only start mumbling how proud and grateful I am for that. Among the highlights of the evening was my performance on stage with my daughter Chiara Bellucci who sang beautifully on stage with me the Bach/Gounod "Ave Maria" in its original key of C. I was tremendously touched by her amazingly felt performance.

The name of the concert is "12 Portrtaits". Nevertheless, and due to time restraints, I could only perform 11 of the guitar classics and the 4 original transcription I made of great movie soundtracks among which "Maximus" from Gladiator, "Gabriel's Oboe" from The Mission and "The Godfather" stand out. Asturias by Albéniz was left out and Barrios Mangoré "An all for the Love of God" was the closing number.

Chiara Bellucci & Renato Bellucci: "Ave Maria"

Performing Gounod/Bach "Ave Maria" LIVE with my beautiful daughter Chiara was perhaps the most emotional moment of the whole concert. Being able to perform and sing the most beautiful prayer in the Catholic liturgy on stage was a treat and being able to honor Our Blessed Mother made us feel really privileged
