MASTERPIECE !
What
a marvelous set of Brazilian Rosewood! Irresistible and worthy of
a Masterpiece concert guitar. Shipped to me from Minas Gerais (Brazil),
it is one of the oldest air dried sets I ever used. Deep brown with gorgeous
grain and a marvelous tap tone. I topped her with a master grade set of
Alpine Spruce top and used the 9 fan Hauser brace to make her a pure breed
"Segovian" instrument and decided to crown her with my interpretation of
Villa Lobos Prelude 1. The beautiful bass line reminiscent of a Cello melody
sings majestically. The Brazilian Trio 1st, 2nd and 3rd string accompaniment
creates a wonderful contrast and I can appreciate the amazing separation
of voices nd definition on all the registers. When I have to bring out
a certain note in the 3 or 4 notes chords, a small stiffening of the finger
carrying the main motif is all that it takes to bring out the note from
the chord and for anyone who ever played Villa Lobos, it will be clear
how important it is that an instrument allows for such amicable response
to the right hand demands.
Her decoration
and detailings is PERFECT. She is sober yet full of artistic details that
enhance her lines and offer pleasure to the eyes throughout. |
