Your site looks very impressive. I have been playing classical for 10 years,
electric for 15, only 1 year of lessons in those times. The back pain from
years of bad sitting position is really affecting my ability to work. Reading
your article on posture was very informative, I need to find the right
height chair now. You are really helping me, thank you! I definitely intend
on joining your site, I cant find a teacher I like locally, I think your
site is the way for me to improve my playing. I feel lucky to have found
you!

Fantastic site! Very helpful and valuable information. I am teacher and
from that perspective, you really possess the ability to transmit knowledge
in an easy way. I wish one day I learn to play some of Mangore's songs.
I barely have free time, and do not make much money, but I believe that
with some discipline to study, at least one hour a day, I can achieve something.
Thank you,
and God bless you

Dearest Renato: I have recently reciprocated the insanity your web-site,
and your beautiful instruments, have caused me, by driving you crazy, and
e-mailing you "daily", with specifications and details for "la Senorita"
, i fell desperately in love with, on your photo-gallery, and finally gave
in to order. I will certainly send my comments and reactions in a few months,
after i will have had an opportunity to touch and "tocar" la Senorita.
In the meantime, however, it will suffice to say, that the beauty of your
"art" is an expression of your personality... of a gentlemanly artist contagiously
inspiring with your passion, dedication, integrity and -certainly- with
your genius. I feel privileged to have exchanged correspondence with you,
and that you will be now working on a guitar for me. You have elevated
this instrument, and the industry behind it, to a newer and more noble
stage, where cosmetic beauty is embued with the serene, powerful strength
of the spirit that conceived it; a deeper sentiment survives the shallow
desire to have and own your guitars, a need to deserve the blessing of
your art. Thank you for sharing your Art and your Heart, with us all. Giacomo.

I have been playing 44 years (since the age of 9). At the age of 21 i heard
Segovia (a life changing experience) and started taking classical lessons
(Sagreras method). At the age of 33 i went back to college to get my computer
science degree. During those years i neglected to practice very much because
of the heavy work load. I did manage to hold onto my technique however.
Anyway when the dot com meltdown hit the US i became unemployed. This however
allowed me get back into a regular practice routine. I am now working on
the Chaconne. It feels great to be with doing what was my first interest
as a child. I do not claim to be a great musician but i am a great lover
of the guitar.

I am not sure what to say about your site other than I am inspired. I cannot
join for several months as I have other financial obligations first. My
grandfather was Wilf Carter (also known as Montana Slim), a famous musician
in Canada for some time. When I was young, he gave me one of his concert
guitars (dreadnought body, steel string) but I never learned to play it
properly. Here I am now on the cusp of 40 years old with two children of
my own. For some reason, I now have a burning desire to play classical
guitar. I appreciate that your site is here with its love of music. I hope
to one day join and begin to learn..that is if I am not to old, haha!

Re-started teaching guitar and mountain dulcimer this year with a different
goal: to allow the students to realize music will be with them always,
when they are celebrating, when they are deep in sorrow, when they are
playing, or lost in thought. To have a heartfelt relationship with music,
one needs to know the language, but one need not be limited to "paper music"
alone. Exposing the kids to Classical, Old Swing/Country, Bluegrass, Baroque,
and folk music, mostly. Steering clear of the idea that a guitar player
needs to be either a "Rock star" or "failure". There is a whole lot of
beauty in the in-between. Getting some everyday folks as guest speakers
and hoping for field trips to various local jams. Thanks for your site.
Inspiring.

I have no musical instrument experience. Now at 76, retired and living
in the California Veterans I have the time. A friend has temporarily loaned
me a guitar. I purchased some books including Parkening. My fingers are
on the short side and I found reaching the strings difficult. Also the
posture was wrong. I have studied and had a deep tissue body alignment
practice ( like Rolfing). And yet could not get resonably comfortable.Since
I have become faced the need to either buy a guitar or quit, I was leaning
toward the latter. For me the guitar is a great expense. Then I found your
website, the sitting position works and is comfortable. I seem to be able
to find the strings! Thank you.

Many of your comments in the guest areas ring so true to me. I am a self

about playing technique, music, repertoire and performing. I have only
had a few lessons and one master class, since I live in Alaska. My wife
says I should be playing more in public but I feel that will take a leap
of faith and technique. I have just found your site and am trying your
recommendations on playing position. I find they greatly reduce tension,
which helps my carpal tunnel problems. You can expect to hear more from

for a couple of years from a classical player. He is very regimented and
always corrects my hand positions etc so I am always uncomfortable, I love
Latin music and would love to be able to feel the rhytms and play the music.
Jao Gilberto/and Jobim send shivers down my spine. I love most Spanish
music and can play Lagrima in my own way, from memory more than sight reading. Is
there any benefit in a player of my limited ability signing into this site.

Renato,
Last night
I got to play several of your guitars owned by someone who lives close
to me here in Nevada (US). First, let me say that I have bachelor and masters
degrees in classical guitar performance, and I have taught privately or
over 30 years, and ran a college guitar program for many years. Over the
years I have owned Rodriguez, Oribe, Mattingly and other guitars. I say
all this because people usually consider the source when they read remarks,
and rightly so. Sir, these guitars are amazing! They would be remarkable
at any price, but your prices are truly hard to believe. The stunning beauty
of the exotic woods from which they are made is hard to put into words.
When I saw them, I just stood there staring (as great as the pictures of
the woods and guitars look on the website, they don’t come close to their
real-life beauty and elegance). All this is enhanced by the fine craftsmanship
of the builder. These are among the most beautiful guitars I have ever
seen.
I actually
played a couple of the instruments that appear on your galley page. One
is made of Bolivian rosewood and cedar (this guitar appears near the bottom
of that page). The response and playability (more important that anything
to me) are quick and easy, yet the guitar is powerful with great sustain
and “belly.” Yes, many makers are achieving this these days, but what struck
me most was the warmth and unique tonal character of each instrument. I
was easily able to achieve full, beautiful colors and the most subtle nuances.
Everyone there remarked about this. I also played your guitars made of
padauk, bubinga, and quilted sepele. Some had cedar soundboards, and some
has spruce. Each was unique and wonderful.
I look forward
to soon owning one of your instruments, Renato, and let me say that I would
have no problem replacing any of the guitars I have owned with one of yours
– regardless of the price! I would recommend anyone teetering on the decision
whether or not to order one to do so with no apprehension. What you present
is a truly unique opportunity for classical guitar lovers.
I look forward
to further contact with you Renato, have my deepest respect. Thanks,
Mel

Renato,
Every few months
I find myself coming back to your guestbook to leave a few more comments
and share my experiences regarding mangore.com with others.
In particular,
I want convey my appreciation for your patience and guidance in helping
me learn to play the guitar! I just eight short months I have learned three
beautiful classical pieces and I am now working on my fourth, Brazilian
Portrait by Baden Powell. Playing has brought me so much peace and comfort
and has stimulated my mind and creativity more than anything in the past
ten years. For all of these things, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I would also
like to extend my heartfelt thanks to you and Mr. "G" for building such
a beautiful guitar for my daughter, Maurissa. The dedication that is attached
to the pictures of the guitar is simply precious and my administrative
assistant thought it was delightful and heart warming. Without a doubt,
something that will be saved along with her guitar for many years to come.
For me, it will always be with me as a warm reminder of the thought and
care that you have extended to Maurissa and I, and for making "The Penguin"
come to life. There will never be enough words to express my appreciation,
but if you could see the expression on my face and look into my eyes and

Again, thank
you for everything that you have done for me. I cherish every masterpiece
that you have built for me and I am not done yet. Your instruments are
works of art and when you play them, you realize how truly special they
are. I look forward to our continued friendship and the day that we can
meet in person.
With warmest
regards and Hearfelt thanks,

Dear Mr. Bellucci:
I have visited
your site a number of times and am hopeful that this summer I will be able
to register.
This is a wonderful
site, for those who love the classical guitar.
I started studying
almost 20 years ago but had to stop. At that time I sold my guitar and
never thought I would get back to it.
About a year
and a half ago I was practicing Hanon exercises on a keyboard I bought
for my wife and one day asked why I was practicing piano, I want to play
classical guitar.
My wife smiled
and said, "you want to play classical guitar". She was right. I found an
American luthier who spec's a guitar called a Pavan, hand built in Spain
by apprentises in the finer luthiers in Madrid (as I understand). Anyway,
I bought one of the top end Pavan's.
It's a wonderful
guitar, but I'm already looking at one of your cedar tops for later this
Summer.
My wife says,
"but you have a guitar", and I say yes, but I don't have a Bellucci concert
guitar.
Although I
took instruction from a classical guitarist some 20 years ago, when I started
back with my studies, I primarilly have taught myself with a combinations
of techniques garnered from the masters. I taught myself to sight read,
at least to the extent that I can teach myself beginner and intermediate
pieces, like Romance.
I have found
though, that it does take time to play a piece well. People I work with
have asked me to play from time to time, and they are always amazed that
I have taught myself these pieces of music. My average practice time per
week all of last year was about 15 hours per week.
The last few
months I've had to cut my practice to about 6 hours per week due to illness
(I'm 60 years old). I also know that I've come to a point where there is
only so much one can learn (time permitting at my age)by teaching oneself.
Hence, your wonderful site.
I appreciated
your observation concerning hand positions. I have never seen a classically
trained guitarist hold his hands in exactly the same position as his instructor.
Consequently, my own hand right hand position fits me. My left hand position
works very well, with the elbow down.
I have trained
my left hand so as to avoid strain.
I have talked
to much, but I wanted to tell you that I appreciate the fact that you have
developed a fine site. At my age I could never afford a qualified classical
instructor. I live in Colorado, USA, and there is only one fine instructor
at Denver University, but one must enroll in their music program (4 years
) to get the benefits of his instruction, since he no longer teaches privately.
When I was
a child, I lived in Venezuela for 5 years. At that time, my great desire
was to someday become a pilot, which I did, and to play classical guitar.
In the 50's in the Venezuelan interior, it was hard to find a classical
instructor unless you went to Caracus, which was far away from where I
lived. Even though I started late and will never be as accomplished as
I might have been, it is still a great pleasure to sit down, take out my
guitar, warm up and actually play some beautiful pieces.
It is my hope
that soon, I can learn additional pieces and technique from your website.
One final thought.
One of the reasons I chose to teach myself, aside from cost and availability
of good instructors, was the fact that I knew that Segovia was self taught.
I figured, if he could do it, so could I. Thus far, it has been a wonderful
learning experience.
Take care.
Best Regards, Cliff Zervos

I'm not yet a member. I will be in about another 10 days (time to pay estimated
taxes to Uncle Sam here in the States so cash flow for anything other than
paying taxes is nil). Gotta wait for my year-end bonus (which comes in
the beginning of the new year - go figure).
If you really
teach me how to get the sound of a rest stroke without playing a rest stroke
I will track you down to give you a hug and a kiss!
I have already
spent so much time on your site, and have learned so much already just
reading and contemplating what you have to offer in the guest sections.
I can't wait to actually start the master classes. I think Bach's prelude
from the cello suite is where I'll start. I recently found the music surfing
for Double from the violin concerto. I think I have learned it well but
I will be interested to see how you teach it - I do enjoy your recording
of it (as well as all of your other recordings).
I look forward
to "working with you," so to speak, and thanks for a great web site. I
wish you and your family and Happy and Healthy New Year.
With best regards,
Rick Sanders

I just discovered this site through searching the webb under "Classical
Guitars."
I love the
"Stupid Frequently Asked Questions"--even more, I love your answers!!!
I am a true
novice, but would very much like to learn more of the "classical style"
guitar. I really don't much about it, so any question I might ask would
probably belong in the "stupid" category. However, if it is worth learning,
it ought to be worth learning with a really good instrument. Thus, looking
for a good instrument brought me to your webb site. Maybe one of your guitars
is for me.
I have a Martin
D-41 guitar at the present. I have heard the sound of a cedar top classical
guitar and I truly love the sound.
GREAT WEBB
SITE!!!
I'll be back
soon.

Hello Sr. Bellucci! I have enjoyed visiting your website the past week
or so. I am completely impressed. I try to be well-rounded as a musician
and thus play many different styles (jazz, blues, rock and my own fingerstyle
compositions) but I have not played much classic guitar. It is a very exciting
prospect to head down this path! If you do not mind, I will contact you
again as I have many questions. Merry Christmas to you! Also, thank you
for your inspirational words ("My Other Biography"). What a gift we have
been given to make music and to play the guitar! It is only fitting to
offer every minute up to God as praise! Sincerely, Scott Caufield

ANOTNIO LAURO.. This composition (Blew me away!) Do you think sometime
in the future, Renato might add this piece to the site? I dont read music
really well, But i've learn alot of composition with the help of (Renato's

The video masterclasses are fantastic. After 10 months, I have taken the
best guitar journey on the planet; Bach, Tarrega, Barrios Mangore (and
a few others). After playing for 37 years, I have found a home! Also, I
am thrilled with the guitar I purchased from Renato, it is a world class
instrument at a very reasonable price. I could not be happier!!!!!!

Im think Im gonna sign up this week...the things that Ive looked at so
far seem to explain things in a very easy to understand manner. Ive always
relied on tab...which as you say has always left me feeling like Im not
really a musician. I hope it helps me compose music on the guitar...and
being a technically perfect guitarist is what Im really trying to strive
for. Im tired of playing music that Ive learned , but have no idea what
Im playing.

Dear Renato,
I was a guest
for a month before deciding to join. I shouldn't have waited that long,
for the wealth of knowledge you present in this site is worth more than
the price of admission.
What a difference
it has made in my studies. I love your philosophy, your iconoclasm. I began
studying classical guitar in the early 80s, but soon was discouraged due
to the 'traditional' approach--the endless boring exercises, etc. I didn't
last very long, and had abandoned my studies for two decades. I still played
the guitar, but just fooled around.
I couldn't
stay away forever. I'm back, and with much gusto. Too much at times, as
I cannot stop playing for hours and hours. Perhaps I should see a shrink,
as you had suggested for people who play/practice more than 3 hours a day.
My only regret
is I didn't find mangore.com before I had purchased a Juan Hernandez Profesor.
Your guitars are beautiful. (The Profesor is also a beautiful instrument,
but . . . .) It takes a lot of willpower to resist whipping out my credit
card and ordering a custom Mangore. I don't know how much longer I can
resist.
More power
to you, your family, and mangore.com. We need people like you, and sites
like mangore.com in this world.
Sincerely,
Jude
