Queen Bohemian Rhapsody

Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody"

Transcription and Fingering: Renato Bellucci

Bohemian Rhapsody is without  a doubt one of Freddy Mercury best songs. Very much in the style of the 70s, it tried to gain immortality by flirting with classical music incorporating beautiful and quite original melodies and harmonies. Other groups like Yes, Alan Parson and Genesis were using this technique and Queen was not to be the exception. My transcription is tailored to perfection for the classical guitar using the best staffs of what I consider a true landmark in music history. Freddy Mercury's life like the life of many of his pop colleagues passed like a candle lit on both ends... way too fast...

This is the place where Mercury was born in Zanzibar (semi-autonomous part of Tanzania in East Africa)

Mercury was a Parsi born in the Sultanate of Zanzibar and grew up there and in India until his mid-teens. He died ofbronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS on 24 November 1991, one day after publicly acknowledging he had the disease. Posthumously, in 1992 he was awarded the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. Queen, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2002, Mercury was placed at number 58 in the BBC's poll of the 100 Greatest Britons.
