The Platters Smoke Gets in Your Eyes

The Platters, "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"

Arranged & Fingered by Renato Bellucci

"Smoke gets in Your Eyes". The song was launched in1959... 2 years before I was born and together with "Only You" were meant to be the two legs upon which the legendary LA group made music history. To this day, these two are The Platters' most illustrative songs. The Platters' greatest gift was their ability to merge each one of their amazing voices into a unique flow of sound that felt as if it were a single voice rich in harmonics and made inperfect pitch. To this day, I doubt that any other group reached the level of perfection in voice harmonizing as the Platters did.You will have to bring out the main melody from the accompaniment. The melody will move throughout the strings and you will have to use fijación in order to lightly stiffen the finger carrying the melody so as to make the resulting sound stand out.
