If is one of my favorite songs by one of my all time favorite songwriters: David Gates, leading member of the pop quartet Bread, is responsible for composing some of the best songs the world has ever known. Amazing classics such as Everything I Own, Aubrey, Guitar Man, Lost Without your Love, Find Me, Make it with You, Baby I'm A Want you to mention a few are a true testament of greatness to a generation I am proud to belong to. David Gates is part of a golden generation that included Cat Stevens, Dan Fogelberg, James Taylor and Jim Croce to mention some of his colleagues. If is a true masterpiece and it fits the guitar beautifully both as solo and in its sang version.
