Stanley Myers, "Portrait"

I first heard the piece performed by guitarist Göran Söllscher in the late 70s. I must say that I was enamored of the piece as soon as the first notes were performed by the Swedish guitarist. It would be another 45 years before I finally got down and made this version for my students. It is shorter that the original Myers version for a very simple reason: The piece was made longer than it needed to be to satisfy recording labels' requirements,  and they did not do the piece any favor because it becomes banale after so much.
